New Holland TRANS 2800 – TRANS: Auto Guidance Isolation valve driver Fault
Issue description
Indicates a circuit failure—such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power (B+)—on the driver circuit that controls the Auto Guidance Isolation Valve solenoid. When this fault is active, the controller cannot properly command the isolation valve, which disables the auto-guidance/IntelliSteer system.
Applies to these machines
4 machines- New Holland T8 Series (T8.275, T8.300, T8.320, T8.330, T8.350, T8.360, T8.380, T8.390, T8.410, T8.420, T8.435)
- New Holland T8000 Series (T8010, T8020, T8030, T8040, T8050)
- New Holland TG Series (TG215, TG245, TG275, TG305)
- New Holland CR-series combine
Check the cause
Visually inspect the Auto Guidance Isolation Valve on the steering hydraulic manifold, including the wiring harness and connector for physical damage, corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out pins.
Perform a harness continuity and short test by disconnecting the harness at the isolation valve and Transmission Controller (TRANS), checking for continuity, short to ground, or short to 12V power.
Measure the resistance across the pins of the isolation valve solenoid to verify it is not internally open or shorted.
Verify the system is receiving correct reference voltages and check for related codes like TRANS 53/54.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the machine, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.
Access the Valve
Locate the Auto Guidance steering valve block/manifold.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical connector from the Auto Guidance Isolation Valve solenoid.
Harness Repair (If Applicable)
If the diagnostic tests revealed a broken wire or short in the harness, splice in a new section of wire or replace the damaged connector pigtail.
Valve Replacement (If Applicable)
If the solenoid coil is internally failed, unbolt the isolation valve/solenoid assembly from the hydraulic manifold. Be prepared to catch a small amount of hydraulic fluid. Install the new OEM valve assembly and torque to factory specifications.
Reassembly
Reconnect the electrical connector to the valve. Reconnect the battery.
Clear & Calibrate
Turn the key on, clear the TRANS 2800 fault code using the IntelliView monitor or a diagnostic tool, and perform a steering/auto-guidance system test to ensure the isolation valve engages properly.
