The fault indicates that the parking brake remains mechanically or hydraulically engaged because the park brake solenoid is not receiving the necessary electrical voltage to release it when commanded by the operator. The system flags that this lack of power may be caused by an open circuit, specifically pointing to the service brake bottom switches potentially being stuck in the "open" position.

   Check the Service Brake Switches: Inspect the switches located at the bottom of the service brake pedals. Use a multimeter to verify if the switches are stuck open or failing to close when the pedals are actuated.

   Test Solenoid Power: Disconnect the wiring harness at the park brake solenoid. Command the parking brake to release from the cab and use a multimeter to check if 12V power and a solid ground are reaching the connector.

   Inspect the Wiring Harness: If no power is reaching the solenoid, trace the wiring harness back to the transmission controller, looking for chafed wires, broken connections, or corroded pins that would cause an open circuit.

   Test the Solenoid Coil: If power is reaching the connector, test the park brake solenoid coil itself for internal continuity/resistance. An open coil will prevent the valve from actuating.

   Secure the Machine

   Park the tractor on a flat, level surface. Chock the wheels securely, as you will be working on the parking brake system and the machine could roll if the brake releases.

   Replace Brake Switches (If Faulty)

   If the diagnostic checks revealed an open service brake bottom switch, disconnect the switch harness, unthread/unbolt the faulty switch from the pedal assembly, and install the replacement switch. Adjust the switch clearance if required by the manual.

   Access the Park Brake Solenoid

   Locate the European/Standard Park Brake valve assembly on the transmission or hydraulic valve block.

   Remove the Faulty Solenoid

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the park brake solenoid. Remove the retaining nut at the end of the solenoid stem and slide the faulty solenoid coil off the valve cartridge.

   Install the New Solenoid

   Slide the new OEM solenoid coil onto the valve stem. Install and tighten the retaining nut.

   Reconnect and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the electrical harness to the solenoid. Turn the key on, clear the TRANS 2852 fault code from the transmission module, and cycle the park brake switch to ensure the brake engages and releases properly.
