New Holland TRANS 2873 – TRANS: Software is out of the calibration mode and the park brake request is still active.
Issue description
If this fault is detected there is a bug in the software. The system fails to drop the park brake request after a calibration procedure has finished.

Check the cause
Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port
Read all active and stored fault codes in the TRANS module to confirm 2873 is present
Check the current software revision level of the Transmission Controller
Verify the physical status of the park brake to ensure it is not mechanically stuck or being commanded on by a faulty switch
Repair steps
Connect diagnostic laptop
Connect the CNH EST diagnostic laptop to the tractor.
Navigate to TRANS module
Navigate to the Transmission Controller (TRANS) module.
Download software payload
Access the CNH eTIM (Electronic Technical Information Manual) system to download the latest software payload for the transmission controller.
Reflash transmission controller
Reflash/update the transmission controller with the latest software version to patch the bug.
Clear fault codes
Once the flash is complete, clear all inactive fault codes.
Perform calibration
Perform a complete transmission and park brake calibration procedure using the EST or the tractor's in-cab display to ensure the new software initializes correctly and the park brake request clears.
Test machine
Cycle the key and test the machine to verify the fault code does not return.
