New Holland TRANS 2910 – Transmission Controller (TCU): 12VF1 voltage supply is low. (possible blown fuse*)

The 12-volt power supply on the specific 12VF1 circuit feeding the transmission electronic control unit (or UCM) has dropped below the acceptable operating threshold. This almost always points to a blown fuse, a failing power relay, or an open/short circuit in the wiring harness.

   Check the 12VF1 Fuse: Locate the cab fuse panel (often F-053 UCM/VCM +12VF1, 5-amp fuse in Block 2B).

   Inspect Relays: Check the Cab Power Relay (K-001) and Implement Power Relay (K-006) for sticking or burning.

   Harness Inspection: Check the 12VF1 wiring harness routing from the fuse panel to the transmission controller for chafing, pinched wires, or a short to ground.

   Voltage Drop Test: Use a multimeter to measure the voltage directly at the transmission controller's power input pins (approx. 12.6V engine off, 14V engine running).

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and engage the parking brake.

   Access the Fuse Panel

   Remove the rubber floor mat and the metal cover plate behind the operator's seat to expose the cab fuse and relay panel.

   Replace the Fuse

   Locate the 5A fuse for the 12VF1 circuit. Pull the fuse and inspect it. If the filament is broken, replace it with a new 5A blade fuse.

   Test the Circuit

   Turn the key to the ON position. If the fuse blows immediately, there is a dead short to ground in the harness. You will need to trace the wire from the fuse block to the transmission ECU and repair the bare wire.

   Relay Replacement

   If the fuse is intact but voltage is still low, swap the Cab Power Relay with a known good relay of the same type (e.g., swap with a work light relay) to see if the voltage returns. If it does, replace the relay.

   ECU Replacement (Worst Case)

   If the wiring harness tests perfectly (no shorts, no high resistance) and the correct voltage is reaching the connector, but the code remains active and the transmission will not calibrate or shift properly, the Transmission Electronic Control Unit has suffered an internal failure and must be replaced and reprogrammed by a dealer.
