New Holland TRANS 47 – Transmission Controller (TRANS / TCU): Clutch pedal bottom of clutch switch misadjusted / Clutch position sensor not agree with BOC switch
Issue description
The transmission controller detects that the readings from the clutch pedal potentiometer (position sensor) and the Bottom of Clutch (BOC) switch are not in agreement, meaning they are too far out of range from each other.

Check the cause
Check Switch Resistance: Test the Bottom of Clutch (BOC) switch with a multimeter. A properly functioning switch should read approximately 4 ohms of resistance when closed. If the resistance is excessively high, the switch has failed internally.
Check Potentiometer Voltage: Verify the voltage sweep of the clutch pedal potentiometer (position sensor) to ensure it does not have dead spots or voltage spikes.
Inspect Wiring and Connectors: Check the wiring harness and connectors at the clutch pedal assembly for loose pins, corrosion, or physical damage.
Check for Related Codes: Look for accompanying codes such as TRANS 48 (BOC switch or Neutral relay short circuit) or codes indicating clutch potentiometer voltage issues (e.g., 11012) to isolate the primary culprit.
Repair steps
Access the Pedal Assembly
Locate the clutch pedal assembly inside the cab to access the Bottom of Clutch (BOC) switch and the clutch position sensor.
Adjust the Switch
If the switch tests within specification (approx. 4 ohms closed), physically adjust the mounting position of the BOC switch so that it correctly engages when the clutch pedal is fully depressed.
Replace Faulty Components
If the BOC switch has high resistance or the clutch position sensor fails the voltage sweep test, remove the faulty component and install a new OEM replacement.
Perform Calibration
After adjusting or replacing the switch/sensor, you must perform a transmission/clutch calibration using the tractor's instrument cluster or diagnostic tool. This allows the Transmission Controller to learn the new minimum and maximum values of the clutch pedal travel.
Clear Codes
Clear the TRANS 47 fault code from the system and test drive the tractor to ensure the transmission shuttles and engages correctly without throwing the code again.
