New Holland TRANS 67 – Transmission Controller (TRANS): FNRP Pod Forward switch is shorted to power.

The FNRP (Forward / Neutral / Reverse / Park) pod is the directional shuttle lever assembly used by the operator. The fault is triggered when the transmission controller detects that the forward signal voltage coming from the FNRP potentiometer/switch is abnormally high.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the FNRP pod and the transmission controller for chafing, melted insulation, or pinched wires that could introduce a short to a 12V power source.

   Disconnect the FNRP pod and use a multimeter to probe the Forward switch circuit (often Pin 6) for voltage. If voltage is present while disconnected, the harness is shorted to power.

   If the wiring harness tests good (no short to power), the internal potentiometer/switch inside the FNRP pod has failed and is bleeding voltage into the forward signal circuit.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the FNRP Pod

   Remove the upper and lower plastic covers surrounding the steering column or armrest to expose the FNRP shuttle lever assembly.

   Disconnect the Harness

   Unplug the electrical connector from the base of the FNRP pod.

   Harness Repair (If Applicable)

   If your diagnostic checks revealed a short in the wiring, trace the harness back to the transmission controller, locate the shorted section, and repair the damaged wire.

   Replace the FNRP Pod (If Applicable)

   If the pod itself is the failure point, unbolt the faulty FNRP lever assembly from its mounting bracket. Install the new FNRP pod and secure the mounting hardware.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the electrical harness to the new pod. Reinstall the upper and lower steering column/armrest covers.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Reconnect the battery, turn the key on, and clear the stored fault codes. Start the tractor and cycle the shuttle lever through Forward, Neutral, Reverse, and Park to verify the transmission engages correctly without throwing the TRANS 67 code.
