New Holland UCM 1213 – UCM (Universal Control Module): Calibration Functions - Loader Valve Calibration Not Complete
Issue description
This fault code indicates that the machine's control module has not successfully completed the required calibration routine for the electro-hydraulic (EH) loader control valve. The system requires this calibration to learn the spool positions and electrical current requirements for the proportional solenoids that control the loader boom and bucket functions. Until calibration is complete, loader functions may be disabled or operate erratically.

Check the cause
Verify if the fault is currently active. If stored but not active, the issue may have been intermittent.
Check hydraulic oil operating temperature. Calibration requires the oil to be warmed up (typically around 52°C / 125°F).
Check for related active codes (e.g., 1211 - Joystick Calibration Not Complete, UCM supply voltage, or spool position sensors) which will prevent calibration.
Inspect the wiring harness and Deutsche DT connectors at the loader control valve for corrosion, backed-out pins, or damage.
Repair steps
Park the machine on a level surface, lower the loader bucket completely to the floor, and engage the parking brake.
Locate the machine's diagnostic connector.
Often located behind an access cover next to the Loader Control Valve or inside the cab.
Connect the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST) using the Dearborn Protocol Adapter (DPA5).
Turn the key switch to the ON position and establish communication with the UCM.
In the EST software, navigate to: Electrical system > Electronic Service Tool (EST) > H1 - Calibration procedures – Loader valve (55.000).
Follow the on-screen prompts to initiate the calibration.
The system will automatically stroke the EH valve spools to learn their end-stops and electrical thresholds.
Once the EST indicates the calibration is successful, cycle the key switch.
If the fault code clears, resume normal operation.
If the calibration fails to complete, replace the faulty valve component and re-run the calibration.
The issue is likely a mechanical failure inside the valve (stuck spool), a failed spool position sensor, or a failed proportional solenoid.
