New Holland UCM 1225 – UCM (Universal Control Module): Health Monitor Functions - EEPROM Memory Checksum Fault

The Universal Control Module (UCM) has detected a checksum failure within its internal EEPROM memory during its health monitoring checks. This indicates that the memory data is corrupted or the internal memory core has failed. This is a 'Red' priority fault, and when active, the system will automatically disable the machine's hydraulics for safety.

   Cycle power, restart the machine, and use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify if fault code 1225 is currently active.

   Visually inspect wiring harnesses and connectors leading to the UCM for physical damage, bent or dislocated pins, corroded terminals, or broken wires. Ensure connectors are fully seated.

   Perform a wiggle test on the involved harnesses to reveal any intermittent breaks or shorts while monitoring the EST and display.

   Check battery voltage to ensure it is within normal operating range, as severe overvoltage or undervoltage can cause memory read/write errors.

   Repair Wiring

   If any damage is found during the diagnostic inspection, repair the damaged wiring or connectors. Verify that the error has been resolved.

   Clear the Code

   If no wiring damage is found and the display indicates normal readings, use the EST to erase the Diagnostic Trouble Code. Continue operation to see if the code returns.

   Replace the UCM

   If the code cannot be cleared or immediately returns after a power cycle and all wiring has been verified, the UCM has suffered an internal hardware failure (EEPROM corruption) and must be replaced.

   Module Programming

   A newly installed UCM is blank and will not operate out of the box. It must be flashed/programmed with the correct software payload for your specific machine configuration using the New Holland EST.
