New Holland UCM 4732 – UCM: Right Swash Plate Angle Sensor - Pin A Short to Power

The control module has detected a voltage on Pin A of the right swashplate angle sensor circuit that is higher than the expected normal operating range (shorted to a power source). When this fault is active, the machine will typically disable the ground drive or limit functionality for safety.

   Verify the fault using the Electronic Service Tool (EST) or the cab display to check if it is currently active or stored in history.

   Visually inspect the right swashplate angle sensor (located on the bottom of the right-hand hydrostatic pump) and the wiring harness leading to connector X-93 for rubbed, broken, or melted wires.

   Disconnect the sensor and turn the key ON. Check Pin A on the harness side for voltage. If it shows system voltage (e.g., 12V), the harness is shorted to power.

   Inspect the UCM harness connectors for water intrusion, corrosion, or bent pins that could be bridging a power circuit to the sensor signal circuit.

   Do NOT remove the sensor from the pump during preliminary diagnostics, as it is mechanically calibrated and removing it requires a full recalibration procedure.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the battery quick-disconnect switch or disconnect the negative battery cable.

   Isolate the Short

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a short to power in the harness, trace the wire from connector X-93 back to the UCM. Repair or replace the damaged section of the wiring harness.

   Sensor Replacement

   If the harness tests perfectly fine, the sensor itself has likely failed internally. Remove the protective cover from the bottom of the right hydrostatic pump. Mark the orientation of the old sensor if possible, then remove the mounting bolts and the sensor. Install the new swashplate angle sensor.

   Calibration

   Because the sensor uses slotted mounting holes, you must perform a Swashplate Angle Sensor Calibration using the EST software after installation so the UCM learns the physical neutral position of the pump.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery, clear the fault codes, and test the machine's forward and reverse ground drive to ensure the code does not return.
