New Holland UCM 4754 – UCM: Right Swash Plate Angle Sensor - Implausible Command, Command Does Not Match With Swash Plate Angle

In machines with Electro-Hydraulic (EH) controls, if the commanded angle does not match the sensor's feedback (or does not agree with the direction of vehicle travel), the module flags the command as 'implausible' and shuts down the drives for safety.

   Check ambient temperature and software version (temperatures below 10 °C / 50 °F can cause false triggers at startup due to a known software bug)

   Inspect hydraulic fluid condition for milky appearance (water contamination) or extreme thickness, which can cause sluggish mechanical movement

   Visually inspect the swash plate angle sensor wiring harness and connector (located on the bottom of the hydrostatic travel pumps) for breaks, corrosion, or shorts to ground

   Update Software

   If the code triggers primarily on cold startups, connect the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST). Update the UCM software to at least version 7.8.0.0 (specifically requiring Update 2 and Update 3 or newer) to patch the cold-weather false trigger.

   Perform Dynamic Calibration

   After any software update to the UCM, you must perform a dynamic calibration of the advance (forward) transmission to relearn the swash plate parameters.

   Replace Sensor

   If the software is updated, fluid is clean, and wiring is intact, the sensor itself has likely failed. Locate the right swash plate angle sensor on the bottom of the Bosch Rexroth tandem hydrostatic pump. Disconnect the electrical harness, remove the mounting screws, extract the sensor, install the new sensor (reuse old screws or procure locally), and reconnect the harness.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Use the EST or a compatible CAN-bus DTC eraser to clear the UCM 4754 code from the module's memory. Test drive the machine to ensure the code does not return.
