New Holland UCM 5811 – UCM: Loader Lock: Implausible State

This code triggers when the feedback from the loader lock sensor or switch does not match the commanded state from the control module. This is typically caused by a stuck spool, a failed sensor/switch, or a wiring issue.

   Check the Rocker Switch: Test the loader lockout rocker switch on the cab control panel for proper mechanical operation and electrical continuity.

   Inspect the Wiring Harness: Trace the wiring harness between the loader lock switch, the UCM, and the loader lock solenoid on the main control valve. Look for pinched wires, shorts to ground, shorts to power, or open circuits.

   Test the Solenoid/Sensor: Check the loader lock solenoid and spool valve sensor for proper resistance and voltage.

   Check for Mechanical Binding: Inspect the loader lock spool on the main control valve to ensure it is not physically stuck due to debris or hydraulic pressure lock.

   Depressurize the System

   Lower the loader arms to the ground, turn off the engine, and cycle the hydraulic controls to relieve residual pressure.

   Access the Control Valve

   Lift the cab or access the main hydraulic control valve area depending on your specific machine model.

   Replace the Faulty Component

   If the switch is faulty: Pop the rocker switch out of the dash panel, disconnect the harness, and snap the new switch into place. If the solenoid/sensor is faulty: Disconnect the electrical connector from the loader lock solenoid/sensor on the control valve. Unthread the faulty solenoid/sensor cartridge from the valve body. Install the new solenoid/sensor and torque to OEM specifications.

   Reassemble and Test

   Reconnect the wiring harness, restore the cab to its operating position, and start the machine.

   Clear the Code

   Use an Electronic Service Tool (EST) or a CAN-bus DTC eraser to clear the UCM 5811 code from the module's memory. Cycle the loader lock switch to ensure the code does not return.
