This cooling belt tensioner pulley maintains the correct tension on the serpentine belt that drives the engine cooling fan and coolant pump. It is mounted on a fixed bracket in the front of the engine, where the pulley's bearing assembly rotates freely to guide the belt around the drive path. A worn or seized pulley bearing causes belt slip, reducing coolant flow and raising engine temperature. This replacement component is manufactured to the original geometry so the belt tracks correctly across the pulley face and the adjacent idler and crankshaft pulleys. On installation, ensure the belt is routed according to the engine diagram and that the mounting bolt is torqued to specification.
