This clamping ring secures the connection between the header and the feed housing on a self-propelled forage harvester. It compresses around the joint to prevent movement and leakage during operation. A worn or deformed ring allows play at the interface, which can lead to misalignment of the driveline and accelerated wear on the mating components. As an original part, its internal and external diameters match the header flange and the housing bore precisely, so no shimming or adapter is needed to achieve the correct clamping force. On reinstallation, clean both mating surfaces and verify the ring seats fully before tightening the retaining hardware.
