This self-aligning bearing assembly supports the straw walker shafts in a combine harvester. It consists of two housings, two bearings, and two clamping rings, supplied as a matched set. The bearing’s spherical outer ring allows the shaft to self-align within the housing, compensating for minor misalignment that occurs during operation on uneven terrain. A worn bearing produces increased vibration and noise at the walker shaft, which can lead to accelerated wear on the shaft and adjacent drive components. As an original-manufacturer assembly, the housing and bearing are machined to the same interface tolerances as the original walker frame, so no shimming or adapter plates are needed during replacement. On installation, torque the clamping ring to the specified value and ensure the housing bolts are tightened evenly.
