This hydraulic filter element is installed in the return side of the hydraulic system on the parent forage harvester. It captures particulate contaminants from the fluid before it re-enters the reservoir and is drawn into the high-pressure pump. A clogged element forces the system’s bypass valve to open, allowing unfiltered fluid to circulate, which accelerates wear on downstream components such as the pump and control valves. This component is manufactured to the original design specifications, ensuring the correct bypass-valve cracking pressure and seal geometry are maintained. When replacing the filter, clean the housing sealing surface and install a new o-ring or gasket before tightening the cap to the specified torque.
