This steering system actuator is a hydraulic cylinder that converts fluid pressure into linear motion to turn the wheels of a harvesting machine. It is the component that receives pressurized oil from the steering control valve and pushes the steering linkage, directing the machine. A leaking or worn cylinder causes sluggish or unresponsive steering, as internal seals bypass fluid and reduce the force delivered to the linkage. As an original part, its bore diameter and stroke length match the housing and piston assembly of the host machine, so no shimming or adapter brackets are needed for installation. When replacing, bleed air from the circuit and check the fluid level.
