This front axle seal ring from Corteco prevents lubricant leakage and keeps contaminants out of the axle housing. It sits at the interface between the rotating shaft and the stationary housing, maintaining a sealed boundary that protects the bearings and gears inside the axle assembly. A worn or hardened seal allows oil to weep past the lip, which leads to lubricant loss and eventual bearing damage. Corteco manufactures this seal to the same lip geometry and material specification as the original component, so it seats correctly in the housing bore without modification. On installation, ensure the sealing lip faces the lubricant side and that the bore is clean and free of burrs.
