This seal ring fits into the front axle housing of the host tractor, where it prevents lubricant leakage and keeps contaminants out of the axle assembly. It sits between the rotating shaft and the stationary housing, maintaining a sealed boundary under normal operating pressure. A worn or hardened seal ring allows oil to weep past the contact lip, which can lead to reduced lubricant level and eventual bearing damage. Corteco manufactures this component to match the original seal geometry, so the lip rides on the correct shaft surface without requiring shimming or adapter sleeves. On installation, clean the housing bore and shaft contact area, and inspect the shaft surface for scoring or corrosion before fitting the new ring.
