Corteco - 12016391B - Front Axle Seal Ring

This front axle seal ring is a radial shaft seal that retains lubricant in the front axle housing and excludes contaminants from the wheel-end bearings. It sits at the interface between the stationary housing and the rotating axle shaft, maintaining a controlled film of oil on the shaft surface. A worn seal allows lubricant to escape and dirt to enter, leading to bearing wear and eventual axle failure. The seal is manufactured by Corteco to match the original housing bore and shaft dimensions, ensuring the correct interference fit and lip pressure for the application. On installation, inspect the shaft surface for grooves or pitting and lubricate the seal lip before pressing it into the bore.
