This V-belt transmits power from the engine drive pulley to the driven pulley in the combine’s drive system. It is a single-rib belt that sits in a dedicated pulley groove, converting rotational motion from the engine to the auxiliary shaft that powers the threshing and cleaning assemblies. A worn or stretched belt slips under load, causing a drop in driven-shaft speed that reduces throughput and may stall the mechanism. The belt is manufactured to match the original cross-section and pitch length so it seats correctly in the pulley groove without requiring tensioner adjustment beyond the specified range. On replacement, verify that the belt rides flush in the pulley groove and that the tensioner is set to the manufacturer’s deflection specification.
