This V-belt transmits power from the engine to the cutterbar drive on the parent combine. It sits in the pulley system that drives the reciprocating knife assembly. A worn or slipping belt reduces cutterbar speed, leading to uneven crop feeding and increased header vibration. The belt is manufactured by Gates to match the original cross-section and length, which keeps the tension within the design range of the automatic tensioner. On replacement, verify the belt is seated fully in all pulley grooves and that the tensioner is not at the end of its travel.
