Gates - 372253 - Massey Ferguson Timing Belt

This variator belt transmits torque from the engine crankshaft to the variable-speed drive pulley that controls the ground speed of the host tractor. It sits in the front engine accessory drive, routing around the variator pulley and the input shaft of the transmission pump. A worn or glazed belt slips under load, causing erratic ground speed and reduced pulling power at low engine RPM. The belt is constructed by Gates to match the original cross-section and cord tension, which keeps the pulley clamping force within the design range so the transmission responds predictably. On installation, ensure the belt is seated fully in the pulley grooves and that the tensioner is adjusted to the manufacturer's specification.
