The hydraulic oil filter removes debris from the return line before fluid re-enters the reservoir, safeguarding the pump and control valves from contamination. A clogged hydraulic filter can cause sluggish implement response and cavitation noise from the pump. Both filters are the manufacturer's original specification, meaning the seal geometry and bypass-valve cracking pressure match the filter head design, preventing unfiltered bypass flow during cold starts or high-load operation. When replacing, ensure the old gaskets are removed from the mounting surfaces and the new filter seals are lightly oiled before tightening by hand.
