This drawbar ball forms the lower-link connection point on a three-point hitch (TUZ) system. It sits in the clevis of the lower link arm and accepts the ball socket of the implement's hitch pin, transmitting draft and lift forces between the tractor and the towed implement. The stepped design accommodates two hitch categories, allowing the same ball to be used with implements that have either size of hitch pin. Wear on the spherical surface creates slop in the linkage, which causes uneven implement tracking and accelerated wear of the mating socket. The manufacturer machines the ball to the original geometry so it seats fully in the link clevis without shimming. On installation, ensure the retaining pin or bolt is secured to the specified torque.
