This flail assembly is the right-side component for the threshing-unit rotor on a combine harvester. It is mounted on the rotor drum and swings outward under centrifugal force to beat crop material against the concave grates, separating grain from the straw. A matching left-side flail is installed opposite to maintain rotor balance. Wear on the pivot eye or the flail tip reduces threshing efficiency and can cause uneven rotor loading. The manufacturer machines the pivot bore to the same clearance as the original assembly so the flail swings freely without binding. When replacing, inspect the pivot pin and retaining hardware for wear and replace them if needed.
