HELLA BRAKE FLUIDS – BETTER THAN THE STANDARD. Brake fluid plays a key role in the reliable and constant transmission of braking force and of braking performance. So as to ensure that it can fulfil its function, its properties must not be impaired at any time or under any circumstances. Every brake fluid, regardless of category, must have certain properties in order to be functional in every situation. The decisive criteria for all this revolve around the dry boiling point, the wet boiling point and the viscosity. In order to ensure that brake fluids fulfil the safety-relevant requirements with regard to these criteria, certain standards have been defined in accordance with the DOT ("United States Department of Transportation") classification.
