This metal-rubber bushing isolates the header drive shaft from the frame, reducing vibration and compensating for minor misalignment between the rotating and stationary members. It is pressed into the pivot or mounting eye of the header assembly, where the rubber layer absorbs shock loads during operation. A worn bushing allows excessive play, which leads to accelerated wear on the pin and the surrounding bore. The metal outer shell and inner sleeve are bonded to the rubber core; separation of the bond or cracking of the rubber indicates replacement is needed. On installation, ensure the bushing is fully seated in the bore and that the mating pin rotates freely within the inner sleeve.
