This clamp secures the variator belt on the cleaning-shoe drive of a grain harvester. It holds the belt in its working position on the pulley, preventing slippage that would alter the fan speed and reduce separation efficiency. A loose or worn clamp allows the belt to shift, causing uneven cleaning action and material loss over the sieves. The clamp is installed at the pivot point of the variator arm; when replacing it, verify that the mounting bolt engages fully and that the clamp face sits flat against the pulley flange.
