This external air filter element is installed in the engine intake system of the host tractor or combine. It captures airborne particulate before it enters the intake manifold, protecting the turbocharger and combustion chamber from abrasive debris. The element is housed in a canister on the engine; a matching internal filter is used in the same assembly. As the filter loads with dust, intake restriction rises, which can reduce engine power and increase fuel consumption if the element is not replaced at the specified interval. On reinstall, ensure the sealing surfaces are clean and the housing is properly seated to prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the element.
