This gear transfers drive from the unloading auger shaft to the grain-tank cross auger inside the combine harvester. It meshes directly with the mating gear on the cross-auger shaft, synchronizing rotation so that grain moves from the tank floor to the vertical unloading tube. A worn gear produces irregular auger speed, leading to bridging or incomplete emptying of the tank. The manufacturer machines this gear to the same tooth profile and bore tolerance as the original assembly, so it slides onto the shaft without rework and maintains the correct backlash with the adjacent gear. On installation, verify that the retaining clip or bolt seats fully and that the shaft key aligns with the gear’s internal keyway.
