Loctite, a brand of Henkel, was founded in 1953 by Dr. Vernon K. Krieble, a professor of chemistry at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. Krieble developed a revolutionary anaerobic sealant that cured in the absence of air, preventing fasteners from loosening due to vibration. The company, initially named American Sealants Company, later became Loctite Corporation. In 1997, Loctite was acquired by the German consumer goods and industrial technologies company Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany, and continues to operate as a leading brand within its Adhesive Technologies business unit. Loctite is globally recognized for its advanced adhesive, sealant, and surface treatment technologies. The brand's extensive product portfolio includes threadlockers, retaining compounds, gasket sealants, structural adhesives, and instant adhesives (super glues). These solutions are engineered to improve the reliability and performance of machinery and components across various industries, offering superior bonding, sealing, and protection against wear and corrosion. Its innovative formulations are crucial for assembly, maintenance, and repair applications.
