This fuel filter element removes particulate and water from the fuel supply before it reaches the high-pressure injection pump. It is installed in the fuel line between the tank and the lift pump; clean fuel here protects the injector nozzles and pump internals from abrasive wear. A restricted filter causes a pressure drop that leads to hard starting, misfiring, or loss of power under load. The filter uses a thread-on mounting interface that seals directly against the filter head without a separate adapter. On replacement, ensure the old gasket is removed from the head and lubricate the new gasket before tightening.
