This fertilizer dispenser meters granular material from the hopper into the delivery tube that leads to the seed coulter. It is the rotating component that controls the flow rate of fertilizer based on the drive speed from the ground wheel. A worn metering edge or a seized shaft causes uneven application rates, leading to streaking in the field. The manufacturer machines the metering bore and shaft interface to match the original housing geometry, so the dispenser maintains the calibrated flow curve without requiring shimming or adapter plates.
