This expansion pin secures the metering disc or a related rotating component on the seed drill’s distribution head. It passes through aligned bores in the shaft and the driven hub, transmitting torque from the drive gear to the disc. A worn or undersized pin allows rotational slop, which causes uneven seed metering and can damage the hub bore over time. The pin is machined to match the original assembly’s fit, so no shimming or reaming is required during replacement.
