This knife is the cutting element mounted on the header of a self-propelled forage harvester. It severs the crop material at the base before it enters the intake and processing system. The knife is secured to the cutterbar assembly at a fixed hole spacing; the mounting bolts pass through the specified hole diameter to locate it precisely. A dull or damaged knife causes ragged cuts, increasing power draw and leaving uneven stubble. The manufacturer machines the cutting edge to the same geometry as the original assembly, so the knife maintains the correct shear angle against the stationary counter-knife. The knives are supplied in a pack of 25 pieces.
