This air conditioning compressor is the engine-driven pump that circulates refrigerant through the tractor cabin’s cooling loop. It compresses low-pressure R 134a vapor from the evaporator into a high-pressure, high-temperature gas that is then routed to the condenser for heat rejection. The 12-volt electromagnetic clutch engages the compressor pulley to the drive shaft only when cabin cooling is demanded. A compressor with internal wear or seal leakage will cause a gradual loss of cooling capacity and may introduce debris into the refrigerant circuit. The manufacturer machines the swash-plate and piston bores to the same tolerances as the original assembly, preserving the displacement and pressure ratio the system was designed for.
