The strut mounts between the window frame and the cab body; its pressure rating matches the original assembly so the window remains stable at any open position. A strut that has lost gas pressure will no longer hold the window up, causing it to drop. The manufacturer machines the piston and cylinder to the same bore and rod finish as the original, which preserves the correct damping rate throughout the stroke. On replacement, ensure the ball sockets are fully seated on the mounting studs and that the retaining clips engage completely.
