The compact STIHL MS 172 C-BE petrol chainsaw is a practical, versatile saw for garden maintenance work. The saw features a powerful STIHL 2-MIX engine, which combines very good cutting performance with low fuel consumption. The cutting set with a standard 3/8'' chain ensures precise cutting. The STIHL anti-vibration system allows the STIHL MS 172 C-BE chainsaw to be operated in a way that does not strain muscles and joints. As a result, the saw also runs quietly and smoothly. Single-lever operation allows all functions to be performed with one hand. If you take a break from work, the saw is immediately ready to start again, because the combination lever with stop function automatically returns to the working position. Another advantage is the rapid chain tensioner, which allows safe and simple tensioning of the chainsaw without contact with the blade and without the use of tools. The STIHL MS 172 C-BE also has a diagnostic socket for servicing the petrol chainsaw. The STIHL ErgoStart system saves effort when starting the device. Furthermore, thanks to the rapid chain tensioner, the chainsaw can be tensioned easily without the use of tools. The solid and compact MS 172 C-BE saw enables very economical work when cutting firewood or for smaller maintenance tasks on the property. Supplied with a Light 04 guide bar (illustrative image). Full control of tank filling. Thanks to the transparent tank, you have a full view of the oil level. Oil can be topped up quickly and conveniently. Manual fuel pump. The manual fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburettor after pressing the button. This reduces the number of starter rope pulls needed to start the device after a longer period of inactivity. STIHL 2-MIX engine. The STIHL two-stroke engine with 2-MIX technology provides high power while saving up to 20% fuel consumption compared to STIHL two-stroke engines of similar power without 2-MIX technology. Exhaust emissions drop by approx. 50%. STIHL ErgoStart (E). The spring placed between the starter rope roller and the crankshaft compensates for load peaks on the starter rope, making them almost imperceptible to the operator. Result: Compared to conventional starting systems, the STIHL ErgoStart system halves the force required to start the device and allows the starting speed to be reduced by about two thirds. Anti-vibration system. Strong vibrations transmitted through the handles of mechanical devices can lead to vibration disease. For this reason, STIHL developed the anti-vibration system. In mechanical devices equipped with the AV system, the handle areas significantly reduce the number of vibrations generated by the combustion engine and the working tool. Cleaning the filter only becomes necessary when the engine power noticeably drops. The STIHL compensator located in the carburettor ensures that despite increasing contamination of the air filter, engine power, harmful substance content in the exhaust gases, and fuel consumption remain constant for a longer period. This allows longer work without the need for maintenance procedures. Rapid chain tensioner (B). The STIHL rapid chain tensioning system (B) makes tensioning the chainsaw chain easier. After loosening the sprocket cover, the chainsaw chain can be tensioned quickly and comfortably using the adjusting wheel - without the use of any tools. Combination lever with STOP button. Only one starting position is needed on the combination lever. Thanks to the Stop function, the lever automatically returns to the working position after switching off. This allows a warm device to be started immediately.
