This hand throttle cable transmits the operator's manual throttle input from the cab control lever to the engine's fuel-injection governor. It is a mechanical Bowden-type cable that converts linear pull motion into a change in the fuel metering position. The cable connects the hand throttle lever to the injection pump linkage; any stretch or binding in the cable introduces hysteresis, making precise engine-speed control difficult.
