A clogged filter restricts airflow, causing increased intake vacuum, higher fuel consumption, and reduced power output. The filter media is pleated to maximize surface area for dust-holding capacity while maintaining low flow resistance. On installation, ensure the sealing surfaces are clean and the housing is properly seated to prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the element.
