The SW40 is an innovative special tool from the Walterscheid service department. The SW40 from GKN Walterscheid was developed for the assembly and disassembly of sliding profiles on cardan shafts. This is an assembly tool that pre-centers and aligns the fork or joint. In addition, the SW40 has collets that firmly fix the fork. Manual readjustment, as previously required, is no longer necessary. This increases safety, as crushing hazards are eliminated. The sliding profiles are hydraulically clamped via special collets adapted to the respective profile shape and simultaneously guided cleanly for the pressing process. Damage to the sliding profile surfaces is avoided. The pressing in and pulling out of the sliding profiles is done hydraulically. Here, one can choose between a hand-operated hydraulic pump or optionally a pneumatically driven hydraulic unit.
