The 3M™ Dual Lock™ Reclosable Fastener SJ355B (also referred to as SJ3550) is a heavy-duty, industrial-grade fastening solution designed to replace screws, bolts, and rivets. It features unique mushroom-shaped stems that interlock with an audible snap, providing five times the closure strength of typical hook and loop fasteners. This fastener can be opened and closed up to 1000 times before losing 50% of its original tensile strength, making it ideal for applications requiring repeated access or repositioning. The SJ355B utilizes a white acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive that bonds effectively to a variety of medium to high surface energy materials, including metals, glass, and painted surfaces, as well as certain plastics like ABS and polycarbonate. Constructed from polypropylene for the stems and backing, with a polyolefin backing, it offers resistance to common solvents and alkaline solutions. This fastener ensures a clean, hidden attachment without the need for drilling or special tools, and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It performs reliably in temperatures ranging from -30 °C to 70 °C for long-term exposure, and up to +95 °C for short-term exposure.
