This chain tensioning gear wheel drives the feed auger in a baler. It meshes with a 12B-1 chain to maintain proper tension and timing between the auger and the downstream packing mechanism. A worn or damaged gear wheel causes chain slack, leading to erratic auger rotation and inconsistent material flow into the bale chamber. This original component is machined to match the original shaft interface and tooth profile, so no shimming or adapter is needed during replacement.
