This O-ring seals the front axle drive housing, preventing lubricant loss and keeping contaminants out of the gear set. It sits between the drive housing and its mating cover, maintaining a closed hydraulic or lubricant circuit under static and dynamic pressure. A degraded or pinched O-ring leads to visible oil seepage at the joint and, over time, low lubricant level that can damage the drive gears. As an original AGCO component, the O-ring is molded to the same cross-section and hardness as the factory seal, so it seats correctly in the groove without over-compression or twisting. On installation, ensure the groove is clean and dry; apply a light film of assembly lubricant to prevent the ring from rolling during cover tightening.
