It sits between the shaft and the housing bore, taking up radial loads as the linkage raises and lowers an implement. Wear on the bushing bore increases clearance, which causes the shaft to tilt under load and leads to uneven lift-arm movement or binding. The bushing is machined to the original shaft tolerance so that no shimming or reaming is required during installation. On reinstall, clean the housing bore and lubricate the bushing inner surface before sliding the shaft into place.
