This reverse switch controls the direction of travel by sending an electrical signal to the transmission control unit. It is mounted in the operator station and is actuated by the gearshift lever or a dedicated button. When the switch contacts wear or fail, the transmission may not engage reverse, or the machine may shift into reverse unexpectedly.
