This synchronizer assembly manages engagement timing between third and fourth gear in the gearbox of the host tractor. It sits within the transmission shaft cluster, where its internal splines and blocking rings align rotational speed between the gear and the shaft before engagement. A worn synchronizer produces grinding during shifts and incomplete gear lockup, which accelerates wear on the shift fork and gear teeth. The manufacturer machines the blocking-ring taper and hub clearance to the same tolerances as the original assembly, so no shimming or adapter is needed during installation. On reinstall, inspect the shift-fork pads and replace the gearbox oil to remove any metal debris from the failed unit.
