This gear transmits drive from the PTO clutch pack to the output shaft of the power take-off system. It engages with the mating gear inside the clutch housing to transfer torque when the PTO is activated. Wear on the gear teeth or splines leads to backlash, driveline chatter, and eventual loss of torque delivery. As an original-manufacturer component, the gear is cut to the same tooth profile and hardness specification as the part it replaces, which maintains the correct engagement depth and load distribution across the clutch pack. On reinstall, verify the clutch pack end float and torque the retaining nut to specification.
