This hydraulic filter element removes particulate contamination from the oil circulating in the hydraulic system of a harvesting machine. It is installed in the filter housing on the return side of the hydraulic loop, where it protects downstream components such as control valves and actuators from abrasive wear. When the element becomes clogged, the system’s bypass valve opens and allows unfiltered oil to pass, which can lead to scoring of precision-mated surfaces and reduced system efficiency. As an original-manufacturer component, the filter media and bypass-valve cracking pressure are matched to the housing design so that the bypass remains closed until the element is fully loaded. Replace the housing seal during installation and tighten the cap to the specified torque.
