This axle joint connects the steering knuckle to the front axle beam, allowing the wheel assembly to pivot during turns. It carries the vertical load of the front of the tractor while transmitting steering forces from the linkage to the wheel hub. Wear in the joint produces free play at the wheel, which causes imprecise steering and uneven tire wear. The original AGCO part is machined to the same taper and thread profile as the housing it seats into, so no shimming or adapter sleeves are required during replacement. On installation, clean the tapered bore and torque the retaining nut to specification; replace the dust boot if the original is cracked.
